Did I miss something? Squall somehow found himself fighting the blood rush to his face, somewhat successful of hiding the color but not his expression. His regular stony glower began replacing his shock. He regarded both visitors, the dark man's myriad of hidden meanings, and the caring girl's (what he felt was) overreaction. He didn't know how he ended up with two intense stares, and paranoia made it feel like the whole room was watching, and plus Rinoa's fingers softly touching his face. It was an awkward day for him. What's more, he hadn't said anyting, but apparently his acquaintances drew quick (and accurate) conclusions.
"It was a training accident. Neither one of us recieved heavy injury. It's no big deal, either way."
He was starting to feel too open. Soon, he would follow the habit of clamming up and reserving his statements more. His defensive mechanism worked that way, for many reasons.
He gave a brief reassuring glance, but instantly dropped it before the two could notice.

Got a slight reaction there, but he didn't draw back either. Almost grinning in triumph she stepped back a bit to allow him some space and remove her fingers. He's got a nice face really.
"Uh huh, so you say. Well, whatever. Let's go see if we can find Zell, then we'll grab lunch." Grabbing a hand from Squall and one from Vincent, she began pulling them towards the dorms. It was a bit awkward walking like that, but it was fun. I used to be led like this when I was younger. First time i'm leading two guys though!
"Where did you say your dorm is?"

*Meanwhile, at Zell's dorm room* (OOC: BTW, if you're wondering how the following happened, I apologize for it. The explanation's under the accompanying thread, "A Loophole." Thought it would make this interesting.)
The caped feline moved out on his own. The oversized moogle that served as his fast walking legs had drawn too much attention. And now that the only person who was last seen with him had disappeared, beyond his understanding, he figured he go on reconissance without his moogle counterpart. As he struggled with closing the door and finally succeeded, he looked up at the number plaque on the wall. Number 702. Commit it to memory, because losing that robot meant a lot of trouble to come.
Cait Sith treaded down another hallway. Although he had no idea what happened or what to do, he figured finding an understanding figure of the supernatural, or at least strange and mysterious would be able to assist him.
636, 581, 472, 398... He was passing the numbers in descending order. He'd been relatively unspotted because more of the rooms and halls were empty except for a few preoccupied students. He rounded a corner, however, and jumped back in time to observed the three students closing in.
Squall, for one, was a little out of it. A lot of useless and random thoughts were jumping about his mind right now. A girl was leading him to his own bedroom. Even under the circumstance, wasn't that a very influential situation? He'd rather avoid it, even though those thoughts were nowhere near the subject. He also considered Zell's lack of patience and attention. He could be anywhere on campus by now. The training center, the cafeteria...and, well, Zell's own dorm room. There didn't seem like many places he could be, or that there was anything that could keep Zell sitting in Squall's dorm room and wait. Nevertheless, he opened his dorm room for the others to look inside. And just as he suspected. No one was there.

"Hm, it's all empty. Oh well" Rinoa through the door way, refrained invading the rest of the room. "What shall we do now gentleman?" She swiveled her head while speaking, taking in as much of the room as possible. She had a feeling they wouldn't be staying there. Squall seemed uncomfortable. However, from what she could tell from her first impression of him, she was lucky to get what she had gotten out of him. Yay me! This just gets more interesting. Vincent's been quiet though... Silently, she prayed for continued good luck. "Vincent?"

"Yes, Rinoa? I am simply thinking, that is all. Just thinking back to my own training days in Galbadia." Vincent responded quietly. Then, with startling clarity, he remembered their first questions to him: Was he a member of Galbadia?
"It was at least twenty years ago, though." He added to his previous statement, hoping not to confuse the two.
It has been too long since I have interacted with humans... He smiled slightly to himself, the reason unknown to his two companions.

Galbadia... There was hope no hard-core Balamb kids would get wind of that. The two were somewhat of rival schools. The more interesting thing was Galbadia's top-class training in long-range weaponry. They were the best at sharpshooting and aerial arsenal defenses.
"A SeeD, I assume? Probably finished a few missions of your own." A lot of experience; that half-explained the kindred spirit Squall had sensed from him. Something to that degree. "But why visit here? Something important?" If he had come to visit Galbadia, he was way off course, and if he needed a place to stay, Deling City was only a metro away from Galbadia Garden. He vaguely wondered why, but figured there were a bunch of possibilities that were truly none of his business.

"Like I said, it was twenty or thirty years ago. I became a Turk after training. Turks are people who did special misions for Shinra. I haven't the slightest idea what they do now, though."
Vincent said monotonously. These kids, they wre enemies of Galbadia, they deserved to know that he was not trying to kill them.
"Don't worry. I hold no allegiance to them. I broke ties with Shinra after they were responsible for my death." He added quietly, not elaborating on the subject.

Impulsively, Rinoa hugged Vincent before cheerfully telling him "Well, that's good to hear! Galbadia is my enemy, the Timber Owl's foe. I'm glad you're not one of them. However, are you sure you meant twenty years? You don't look very old. Tired prehaps, but not aged." He may be powerful ally in addition to SeeD if I can win them over. "Would you oppose Galbadia? Would you help me if asked? And you Squall? What do you plan on doing here at Balamb Garden?"

"Yes, I said at least twenty years ago. I stopped aging at 27. I am at least three times your age, cronologically, however." Vincent commented sadly. "I would be honoured to help your cause against Galbadia. Things have greatly changed since I was alive. They have changed for the worst." Vincent turned his crimson eyes on the man he had thought so much like himself. I can only hope he does not ruin his life for ideals and a woman....like I did...
He smiled meloncholically, his regret and sadness seeping easily into his usually cold gaze.

She followed Vincent's eyes to Squall before turning back to him.My god, he's not lying, he's completely serious. I get the feeling he's not insane either. I thought the weird vibes I got from him were just me... She stared, part horrified, part confused, but not disgusted or afraid. The dark hair framing her face made her face seem paler. It was intent on Vincent. In the back of her mind, she remembered Squall was still there, watching.
"You mentioned sleeping...when did your time stop? How? What are you Vincent?" She stopped to further consider what he had revealed to her and how she must sound to him. He also said before were afraid. He must be lonely. "Why are you telling me this?" she asked gently. "You don't have to tell me. I'll value your help no matter what you are, even a sorcerer." Accepting, something every human should be to be able to make others truly happy.
What made you sad? Who hurt you? Squall...I hope the same doesn't happen to you, whatever it is. I'll do what I can...I hardly know you two, but I already care and why shouldn't I?

"I tell you this because I see myself in Squall. It is an odd feeling. " He paused for a moment. "And yes, I was killed at 27, and experimented on...I am no longer human, but trust me on this, I am not a sorcerer."
Vincent looked away from Rinoa's confused face, back to Squall. He quickly shook his head to rid himself of the snatches of memory playing through his head. His crimson gaze turned back to Rinoa.
"I am aware that your problem these days involves a sorceress. Tell me, is she immune to demons?" Vincent asked seriously.

His knowledge of the Sorceress caught her off guard. "Well, as far as we know, she is not. She could certainly fight back, but isn't invulnerable." She regarded him seriously in return, all former traces of playfullness gone. "That's why I came here. I wanted to see if SeeD would aid my group since we too, actively oppose the expansion of Galbadia." She folded her arms agross her chest, gazing at the floor thoughtfully. "They're being controlled by the Sorceress Edea. Do you know of her?"
I feel like I had previous knowledge of that name, but...why? At any rate, she's our enemy. Vincent may know something. I can't see him doing something for no reason. She lifted her head to gaze intently back at Vincent. "...I am no longer human" he says. Even I don't know how to respond to that. "You look alive, except perhaps your eyes." Yes, they were definitely unearthly.
"I don't have a plan as of yet, but there's time." Her expression softened noticeably. "I had hoped to relax today before going down to business. Balamb is due to have SeeD exams soon anyway so they can't help me right now. You'll be taking the exam won't you Squall?"

"He would be a fool if he did not take the exam." Vincent spoke softly. "And no, Rinoa, Edea is after my time. I currently appear alive due to exposure to different forms of Mako, and other experimental procedures. If Edea sides with Galbadia, and hence Shinra, she is also my enemy. " He paused momentarilly.
"I doubt that Balamb will directly give you help. You will most likely have to win over individual people's loyalty to your cause. I know of a few who would help your cause...at least, after much persuasion."

Squall remained silent. Every time one of the pair had glanced in his direction, he felt more unnerved. There was some internal conflict going on with the other two. He, himself, wasn't in the mood for small talk anymore. Especially after the great unveiling from Vincent and Rinoa. He had no idea Rinoa had been waiting to hire SeeD members for a mission. He was due to take the exam in the next month or few weeks. Of course she was interested it talking with Cid. He felt stupid, for the split second he allowed, for making her tail him around and listening to his prattling and useless drivel with Vincent. Interesting though it was. And now the whole perspective on the dark stranger had changed. For whatever connections he had felt towards him, Squall suddenly felt the ties break. It was like finding someone who could understand your problems, and then realizing they were paid to be your therapist instead of a genuine friend (OOD: I know, weird analogy, but I'm trying to relay teenage angst in a way. I'm just explaining his actions; don't let it inspire too much ). There was something unnatural that made Vincent's presence similar to Squall's, and it didn't seem like such a strong connection anymore. As much as he tried to ignore the severity of the feeling (and succeeding in making it seem insignificant to himself), he suddenly didn't want to be there anymore. He didn't want to help Rinoa; what good would he be as a novice SeeD? He was just a candidate right now as far as status was concerned. And he didn't want to help Vincent either. The man had been holding a dark secret; something big was planned to happen around him. What good was Squall when he wasn't even qualified for a mission yet? On top of that, Vincent had the same feeling about him as he had toward Vincent. There was something eerie about it; he now had the feeling that what Vincent's purpose was for being there, it was going to have something to do with himself. He didn't care if the other two stared at him perpetually and waited for an answer; he didn't have a reply to say anyway. Just then, the door lightly creaked as a cat on two legs walked in, looking up at the three faces around the room. Yes; he could trust this trio. They definitely seemed like they knew how to handle the supernatural.

((OOC: For RPG sake, we tweaked ages....like Squall so does not seem 18 so now he is like maybe, 22....TWEAKAGE!!!))
"Oh no.....Not him...." Vincent said, stifling a slight smile with his clawed hand. Everytime Cait Sith showed up somewhere, everything got turned upside down, and this was Vincent speaking of things getting turned upside down.
But before he mentioned anything about the cat, he had other matters to deal with, like the sudden feel of aprehension he had gotten from Squall. "Lionhart, you may just be a candidate now but trust yourself. Yes, I am aware we are eerily connected in some odd way, but put it aside for now and think of what Rinoa is asking you. Could you, a fighter, just leave innocent people to die all because you didn't feel like helping because you were scared?" Vincent hissed bluntly. He was almost never so direct or even that angry, but just the way Squall was acting threw a switch in him. He had a feeling that the man usually never acted this way, that it was a recent development. Well, in his opinion, fearing prospect missions was not a good habit to get into. It would get you killed.
Vincent turned his attention back to the intrusive cat. "Hello Cait, long time no see."
