((OOC: I do believe so, but I could be thinking of something else...And yeah, I made Liath be gone before the orphenage, as to keep to the game as close as possible.))
Liath looked to the girl with wide eyes. She had not expected her to hear her private words. Just the simple encouragements from the woman beside her made her feel more confident that Squall would eventually remember.
"I suppose you are right...I guess time is the only thing I can give him. There is no way to change the past, so if he cannot remember me, I suppose it will be destiny. Don't get me wrong, I love him but if even with Vincent's help and he still cannot remember, than I will take it as a sign that the scientists were correct; That it was better off for my past acquantances to forget me." Liath smiled wistfully. She knew that even if he could not bring himself to remember, she would alawys love him, even at a distance. Now that she had found him, she could not possibly image leaving him to fend for himself. She would watch from the shadows, if need be. Never allowing him to notice her presence, lending him an unseen helping hand.

(OOC: I leave for a few hours, and now I'm supposed to proclaim love to my science-guinea-pig sister. No offense meant by that term, but man, you guys like to dramatize! I like it! Keeps things interesting. For the sake of your posts, I can go along with Liath as a sister. Maybe she can teach the guy to lighten up! As for the orphanage... let me explain. SPOILERS... for all those who stumble upon this and don't want to know... I'm not shading it, though. Quistis Trepe, Zell Dincht, Irvine Kinneas, Seifer Almasy, Selphie Tilmitt, and Squall Leonhart all went to the same orphanage run by Sorceress Edea, who was not being possessed at the time, was kind, benevolent, and went by the nickname "Matron" to all the kids. As for Squall's parents, Raine (assumed surname: Leonhart) and Laguna Loire, Laguna was assumed dead though off running a country, and his mother died sometime after Squall was born, be it childbirth or some illness later on. Because Raine was taking care of an already orphaned girl, Ellone, the two children are sent to the orphanage. This is why Ellone is generally Squall's "Sis", because she's been there since before he could remember, so she technically is his foster sister, in nature. But really, I like where Zyadai and Kyobi are going with this. You two are doing great! Don't let my rants stop you! Just clearing up some thing, so tell me if you add your own quirks to what I can figure out about the background info. Sorry if this brought down any expectations I wasn't trying to ruin the experience. P.S. Squall will still be snippy for a while. Sorry about that, too. he'll open up after some private one-on-one talks. Promise! ) This had gone on long enough. A very, VERY strange woman had apparently recognized him, a very serious, and presumeably dark man was trying to make him meditate (OOC: teenagers, what are you gonna do with 'em? ), Zell was obviously enjoying the situation too much on account of all the sblack personing he could hear, and to top it off, the girl he was beginning to like was encouraging the situation further. He had to look Vincent in the eye, regardless of how much the blood red color unnerved him, and meaning no disrespect he unbound himself from Vincent's tough grip, hoping he wouldn't offend him. What. The. Heck. This wasn't his day. Everything was starting to spiral on him. If anything, he was ready to pulverize something; too many things were getting him wound up. Could he get a breather for just one second!? He cast his eyes to the fox-eared woman, regarding her intensity, as well as her tenseness. It wasn't a good sign, someone so dangerous and somewhat non-hostile to be overwrought like he was. He turned his eyes back to Vincent. "I'd rather remember at my own pace, thanks." He stepped back, securing a little distance for himself. He looked back at the tailed woman, still a little peeved at the scene she had caused. She showed no sign of leaving. Also, there was that feeling of danger lurking about in the open area. Perhaps they had better move back inside? Although... this woman didn't seem focused on killing them... He sighed heavily, looking back at Aeris, who had come about to check things out. "Maybe we could arrange another sitting place? We only have one more..." "Un-uh," Zell called out, having ended his snickering enjoyment of Squall's incredible discomfort. He knew he would regret laughing at the overly-serious man later, but he didn't care. He walked over to Vincent and Yuffie, yanking the newcomers hand into the air for both Aeris and Squall, as well as everyone else, to see. "Got a straggler here," he joked, and he was sure Cait Sith had struck the back of his head for his rudeness before Yuffie could kick his shins. Slowly, he turned back to Aeris's bewildered face. "I can help make more food if you need me." Squall took the time to inch out of the group and out of sight while most of the group's attention had focused on the flamboyant blond.

Liath turned around and growled at the blonde for both his rudeness and making fun of her brother. Her intent was to scare the begeebers out of him.
She turned back to Yuffie and Rinoa, a slight smile on her face.
"Well, looks like Squall is having no part in Vince's little jedi-mind trick bit, but I must say, I wouldn't want to either." She raised her eyebrows at the unlikely pair, the small ninja and the dark man beside her. "Yuffie, you have an odd taste in men, you know that?"
~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"It is Vincent, not Vince. And it isn't a 'little jedi mind trick' as you so fondly put it, whatever that is, I was merely going to assist in accessing his memories in case there is some form of magical barrier." Vincent direceted his gaze back to Squall.
"You do know that you are going to have to remember sooner rather than later? It is probable that you have a magical barrier cutting you off from your memories, preventing you from accessing them. So, either you agree to let me help you....or I bite you." Vincent smirked slightly, well, what would be considered a smirk in Vincent standards. Yes, Vincent Valentine just smirked. He looked cautiously about, risking his back to the now angered Squall.
"We need to find somewhere else to talk if we are to continue this conversation. I do not believe out in the open is such a good place for matters of this importance...." He cut off momentarily.
"You never know who might be listening."
And Although he pointedly ignored Liath's comment, allowing Yuffie to answer the question, it was eating its way into his thoughts.
What reason does Yuffie have for staying with me?
((OOC: Yes, TerryShadow, it actually does still work out...Since Squall remembers Ellone, then perhaps she is completely erased from Liath's memory...or the memory is so deeply buried it can only surface upon seeing her....that's why she remembers Squall.
Sorry if this post is a bit muddled and confusing....Tell me if I lost anyone here.))

(OOC: I think that's brilliant! More power to you, Zyadai! ) Bite me? Squall, in his pace, gave a half-glance to the fox-tailed lady near Vincent and the chattering group. Maybe Vincent was more related to her than he thought. They both seemed like the supernatural time, if no other connection had bound them together. The lighthearted bickering that was spurred amongst them was enlightening and restful to his mind. This was what having friends was like. Not that he really cared, but... oh well. Maybe he did care. So much that he'd do anything for all of them, even if they were a little weird and a strange mix to boot. Regardless to his wish to linger and maybe see another quirk in Vincent's stern visage, maybe even a little more drama from the hodgepodge of female interaction, he decided to block out everything, including Vincent's warning of danger, and take his leisure in the thicketed paths around Aeris's house, taking a little time to himself. He could defend himself, he was certain. No need to stick around and clog up the lively chatter like he usually did. He wouldn't miss much, anyway.

(OOC:WAH! Thanks TerryShadow. I just find out recently that you're a girl! I still love you, but now we can't be internet lovers ;_; Way to crush my Squall induced dreams XD) Nanaki kept silent watch of the whole time. After all, he was one to observe and not much of a talker. Ears pricked, he smiled inwardly at the return of peace after the drama. He hardly knew most of them, so his main goal was to get to know them for the time being.
Rinoa debated inwardly, having difficulty making a decision. Eyes cast downward, almost narrowed in thought, she fell slightly behind the rest. Is it wrong to expect him to say "Sure! Delve into my mind!" or should I be angry that he's not even trying to help her? It was hard to tell based on her lack of experience with Squall if he had been pushed to his limits already with everything that had happened. It appeared that way to Rinoa.
Absently she toyed with the ring. What should I do? Should I do anything? She stared hard at Squall's back. The Timber Owl's Princess wasn't an indecisive person in the least, so why now?
Nevertheless, she couldn't help, but laugh outright at Vincent's "bite" comment. Because of her tense mood, it made it even funnier than it normally would of been. Laughing right at Squall wouldn't help, but she just couldn't help it. Stomping up to him, she grabbed his shoulders to ground him to a halt. "STOP acting SO cool!"
(Possibly one of my favorite moments, Rinoa kicking Irvine down the stairs)

(OOC: Ah, the memorable D-District Prison scenario... *sigh*...always pleasant... Now I gotta wonder how much Nick has been talking about me. I'm on to you, man! Although you all do deserve to know I'm a girl... it would've been a fun situational comedy while it lasted! Okay, I'll stop with my awkward, hyper rantings for a while. I owe it to you guys.) What's her problem? He complied, standing still by the command of her petite strength. "Something wrong?"

She raised her eyebrows at the unlikely pair, the small ninja and the dark man beside her. "Yuffie, you have an odd taste in men, you know that?" Yuffie just smiled a devilish grin at the animal-like female. "At least i'm not followed by little animal friends everywhere I go." She teased.

((OOC: Ok, I know they never actually stated that Vincent drinks blood but the guy never mentions food...and it is widely believed that he is some sort of vampire, so deal. And TShadow, why are you a girl, d**n you!!! Me and the Kyo are so heartbroken now!!!))
Liath smiled wickedly at Yuffie's comment, appreciating the girl even more for her humor.
"That could easily change, Yuffie...One snap of my fingers, and you can have your own lil' entourage of squirrels. Now wouldn't that be interesting?" Noting the presence of the red lion creature she had been curious about earlier, Liath moved closer to him, plopping down on the ground next to him.
"Well, while I wait for my little brother to stop acting like a shrew, I am going to talk to you. I know you can talk in the way people can...not that it matters. I'd understand you either way, I just want to know how you can talk like that. You look like an animal...and yet there is something different. You are more civilized, not like a house cat, but civilized in the way a person is civilized. If you don't mind me asking, what are you exactly?" She asked curiously, one eyebrow raised. Her fox ears twitched with anticipation; she had to know what he was. It was one of those questions that bothered you until you had an answer for them.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Vincent watched as Rinoa stopped Squall, laughter threatening to burst out from his lips. Vincent knew Rinoa had no inkling that he could indeed bite Squall if he so desired and literally draw the memories from him, especially since she had taken it as a joke. Although he was indeed not serious when he had said it, he was still capable of it.
He smirked slightly, sincerely ammused at the scene unfolding before him.
"Squall, I would just take Rinoa's hint and stay here. There is no point in running from the situation...Besides, if you annoy her and take too long, Liath will send one of her wolves after you, and I do not think they will make the effort to be gentle." Vincent had seen the pack that followed the spliced girl around and just from the look of them, he knew they would do anything she asked.
He shook his head, wiping away the mental picture of Squall being dragged back to the group by his pant-leg, a wolf trotting ahead, the fabric in its teeth. It was just too ammusing for him. The fat that he knew Squall would be stubborn enough to leave and take his chances against a bunch of wolves made it all the better.
Thinking of wolves and all the drama going on around him had made Vincent completely forget about his own problems, and how he needed to eat shortly. Without feeding, he lost control of himself and of the creatures. Since he had been awoken from his long slumber, he had taken great pains to hide the monstrous way he fed and to keep up with it. When he failed to, he became weak and lost his grip on the demons residing within him, giving them a chance to come to the surface.

Nanaki was pleased to be able to talk to Liath. Her animal characteristics intrigued him, perhaps the closest to him in some ways. "I'm afraid my race is ancient one that has never been given a name that stood above others. I may be the only left actually. I was raised by humans and my mother for a time." His face fell, he had gotten very far off track from his original mission. "I understand you have a connection to Hojo. What a horrid human. I was a 'test subject' for a time you see." His voice was tinged with bitterness. "Ah well, it's over."
Satisfied that he stopped, she released him for now."Yes, there is something wrong. Would you care to talk with me about?" No pressure, spoken matter of fact. She stepped back to give Squall a little room. "To be honest, I don't know what i'm doing, but here I am. So, um, yes." She rested her hands on her hips, then removed them.

"Hojo had alot of test subjects from what I understand but to be the only one of your race? Surely there must be at least one other like you...especially if Hojo has taken a liking to your species. He probably has found others like you. I know from experience that being one of Hojo's guinea pigs is not pleasant, but may I ask what exactly did he do to you?" Liath asked lightly, attempting to not bring back unwanted memories for herself and Nanaki.
"It will never be over. Not while that thing exists. He will continue to do terrible and ungodly things to people until he is stopped." She clenched her fists, remembering bits and pieces of her time with the human abomination.

((OOC: And TShadow, why are you a girl, d**n you!!! Me and the Kyo are so heartbroken now!!!)) (OOC: Just b/c I feel silly, no offense meant, I understand why Kyo should be angry. Rinoa and Squall usually end up together, so it is implied in the game. But briefly explain, anybody, why are YOU upset, Zyadai? Was there something more expected then you care to let on? *cackling in the background* Heh, okay, I'll stop teasing you . I just can't help laughing everytime you berate me for being a girl ;D It's really funny!) "I don't like talking about myself." He regarded the woman in blue, a lot of tension and anxiety draining from his face. "Never helps anyone, just burdens them with trivial stuff they don't need to hear." The laughter and jovially exchanges happening closer to the house were enough to distract his mind for a mere second, but it was a moment he thought about the impossibility of being like other people, talking and gossiping around like every little thing in the world had a purpose in conversation. In the next moment, he'd shift back to denying any want of that, seeing no real interest in being just like other people. He had no passionate determination for anything... anything he would admit aloud, anyway. He had trudged through school, doing his work............ the real thing he did care about was the people who made a difference, and whether he knew everything about them, or they secretly hated his guts, there were a lot of persons he would sacrifice for, though he didn't wish to admit it. "Talk never works out the problems. I'd do better with avoiding them, and they would be a problem for anyone else if I don't open my mouth." I just want to get through this and get home. Things should get back to normal, if that's anywhere close to what you call this. Stuck in a city that was falling apart from the bottom up, running into strange characters, sensing dangers at every turn that he'd begun to ignore every itch he had to ward off something; it was exhausting enough. He hoped everyone would just walk inside and prepare for dinner soon. Maybe he'd get a little breather to compose himself at that time.

((OOC: BECAUSE SQUALL IS A SEXXY BEAST!!!! AND WE NEED YOU!!! YoU CANNOT LEAVE US!!!!!))
Liath heard the exchange between Rinoa and her little brother, much to her shame, she was eaves dropping on the two of them. She only wanted to see if the girl was somehow romantically involved with him, because they seemed so adorable together but hearing his words was the last straw. What was he talking about? He was beginning to act a bit like Sephiroth, hiding his emotions and whatnot.
Jumping to her feet, she stomped over to Squall, a giant black wolf coming out from behind the flowers and following her. Stepping up to him, she let out a deep growl and slapped him across the face.
"How dare you say that. If you continue to think like that, you will isolate yourself from the world. I'd know." She quieted, closing her mouth and looking at her feet.
"I..I'm sorry I slapped you...It is just that if you do not talk to people then eventually you will forget how." She murmured, the wolf at her side instinctively growling at the brunette in front of her.

It took several seconds to recover from the shock. No matter how much time he took to understand Liath's actions, he wasn't in a compassionate or caring mood. Indignant, face sour and sore, he told himself not to explode out or stomp off; both would be childish and irrational. Instead, he stared back at the woman straight in the eye (He would've glared, but she did apologize). "I don't talk to other people over personal problems. It's no one's concern but mine, and I don't need an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on because everyone eventually ends up on their own. You have to fend for yourself in the end; you can't depend on everyone else. I'm old enough to take care of myself and run my life efficiently. I don't need the time for sitting down and moping about my issues." Every so often, his words snapped vehemently, since he wasn't in the best of moods. In fact, everything he had addressed was something that bugged him about a lot of talkative people who always wanted to relay their life's story to whomever was in listening radius and just hear what someone thought about them. Squall wanted to think that he, himself, didn't care about others' opinions. He just had to live and think for himself, regardless of others. They weren't controlling his life or running it, so their opinions amounted to nothing as far as he was concerned. (OOC: Hope I can still get in touch with everyone on my trip. Maybe I'll get a lucky break during midnight hours or something . And by the way, I'm flattered that I'll be missed, and more importantly, Squall will be, too it makes me happy!!!!)

His words stung deep, hurting her in a spot she had thought she had long ago isolated from herself. On the verge of ripping Squall to shreds, her claws fully extended, Liath growled, "You are just afraid to let people in. You are afraid that anyone will actually be able to understand you, afraid that if they do, you will have someone who might actually care about you and then you won't be able to act like some angst ridden little boy." She glared angrilly at her younger brother, barely holding her temper in check. Turning on her heel, she began walking away, but stopped abruptly a few feet away.
"If you want to pretend to not need people, fine. I'll leave you to your own self-destruction, but I'll give you one last warning before I go." She paused, turning her head around to reveal a maniacal grin.
"If I were you, I would get out of this city fast. It is the wish of many that this city be destroyed, and we will not fail in carrying out that wish." She turned bac around and continued walking, blending into the cover of shadows as she went, eventually disappearing altogether.

(OOC:Miss you TerryS! Have fun and though I still think you have no business being a chick(Zyadai and I have been saying that for days), I luvs ya anyway.) Shocked at the turn of events, Rinoa was frozen for most the conversation. Glaring at the spot where Liath disappeared, she shook her head angrily. Liath did have a point, but I think she went too far. Squall's reacting well considering the corner we've managed to force him into. She looked at him intently, wondering what he would do next.
"Squall...Thank you. Thank you for opening up to me. It means a lot. I don't think you should avoid your problems, but it's good to know you care." She spoke softly, looking at the ground to avoid making eye contact. The present situation was not a comfortable one. Rinoa had not intended for it to happen. I'm sorry, I only wanted to help. Touching his arm lightly she said "I didn't mean for this to happen, i'm sure she means well." She left him to join the others.
Seeing that the rest had found a suitable spot, she settled for sitting on the ground. Thinking she rested her chin on her knees, legs drawn to her chest.
